People will believe your certainty. They may not know if an idea is good or not. But they will believe how certain you are, that it is a good idea.

When you are certain you need to project certainty.

I’ve seen million dollar deals sunk

because the person pitching came across as uncertain – when it was clearly the right thing to do. And it’s not about bluffing. Trying to convince someone of something when you’re not certain about it.

Job INTERVIEW? Do you KNOW how to NAIL the CRUCIAL first 7 minutes

You may have a job interview coming up. In today’s environment you will often have a larger number of competitors for a position that previously. That’s why you need to particularly ‘own’ the first seven minutes of the interview process.

My view is this. Interviewers will decide to hire you, or not (even though they won’t admit this) based on the the impressions you leave in the seven minutes (approximately) – starting from the time you enter the office where the interview will take place and from impressions you leave in the following sequential steps:

HOW does Joe BIDEN come ACROSS in person? – first person EXPERIENCE

‘….his comments were statesmanlike…. he had significant energy . . . he has a gravitas about him and that makes one stand out in a crowd these days.’

These comments were included in a recent Alan Weiss post, concerning Weiss’s face-to-face observation of U.S. Presidential aspirant Joe Biden.

I had heard that in person, Biden, always makes an strong, positive impression – and Weiss’s comments confirm what I had heard. Weiss’ comments about Biden align to concepts I share with my senior executive clients.
