Do you want to shake hands again? – suggested method
Is the hand shake dead? or Is the hand shake making a comeback? In the future, many people will never shake hands with another person, even if a vaccine for COVID-19 is discovered.
However, in certain work environments, like the corporate sector where I spend much of my time, many people want to shake hands again.
But how to you re-introduce hand shaking without potentially offending the other person your greeting?
Here’s preparation and a process that I’ve trialled with initial success.
Preparation: If youHave a small bottle of hand sanitiser in your left pocket for a man, or readily accessed by your left hand for a woman.
Process
#1 As you move to greet someone simultaneously hold out your right hand as you hold out your left hand with the sanitation bottle visible
#2 Say something to the effect of: If you’re open to shanking hands I have sanitiser you can use after.
